We went down to Reading on Thursday to stay with Lauren and
Lewis for a couple of days. They have
just moved into their first home and we wanted to help them decorate a couple
of bedrooms. It was really nice to spend
time with them and also see Sophie and Yanos who came round a couple of
times. We got back to the boat on
Saturday afternoon and were pleased to see our daffs have started
blooming. We got the fire going and
retired to the Salt Barge for a couple of pints.
As strong winds are forecast for the beginning of the week
we decided to cruise to one of our favourite mooring spots on the northern
Trent & Mersey on Sunday. It was a
grey and misty morning but we saw three other boats on the move. Here we are leaving Marston.
Just to prove we are in a salt extraction area here’s a
factory with bags and blocks of salt stored outside.
This marina at Rudheath is taking years to build – progress
seems to be so slow. When we came past
in November water was being pumped in. That’s
all that seems to have happened in the last three months since.
We moored at Billinge Flash with the intention of catching
up with admin over the two days that storm Harry is due to pass. One of the tasks is to review the 250 page
inventory that was prepared for letting our house.
When I take pictures on my phone I usually upload them to
FaceBook with a privacy setting of “Only me”.
That way I can choose which to use for the blog without sharing them
with the wide world. For some reason
when I uploaded this picture the privacy was set to “Public” and I started
getting comments from fellow boaters about it also being one of their favourite
mooring spots.
